GRIMES, Gomer Otho - Putnam

Gomer Grimes died on his father's farm, east of Russellville on Sun. morning, after being critically ill for several weeks. he was one of two early victims of influenza, followed by a number of complications. The following Biography has been handed us: "Gomer Otho Grimes, eldest son of John R & Laura L. Grimes, was b. June 11, 1887 and departed this life, Jan 12, 1919, aged 31 years, 7 months, 1 day. On Dec. 24, 1910 he was united in married to Miss Laura Madeline Connor. To this union was b. a son, Leonard Connor. There is left to mourn his departure, the little son, wife father and mother and one brother and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the home on Tuesday morning by Rev. Dodd of Greencastle. Bur. was made in Russellville Cemetery
